Syllabuses and Exam papers

Every course you study has a syllabus. This is a detailed description, written by the exam board, of everything to do with the course, including what is to be taught. It is useful to have a copy, or a link to one online, or at least a summary, so that you can use it as a progress check list, making sure that you've covered everything. I've done my best to detail syllabus content for maths and science GCSE on my maths and science websites.

To find the right syllabus for each subject, you'll need to know:

1. what exam board your school uses for each subject

2. which particular syllabus you'll be following for each subject.

There are five exam board in the UK: OCR, Edexcel, AQA,WJEC and CCEA.

Most exam boards allow you do download specimen papers and past papers. As long as you know the exact syllabus you're studying, you should be able to find them on the above websites. If in doubt, phone them. You can find out which course you're studying from your teacher or school's examinations officer.
