A small number of pupils, for whom nine GCSEs is inappropriate, will be able to opt for 'Vocational Studies' (at South Bristol College). Science GCSE CurriculumEither of BTEC - This is an alternative approach to the 360GCSE Science. The course has been developed for students who prefer to undertake written assignments and enjoy a hands-on investigative approach. Maths GCSE curriculumEdexcel modular exam courses are followed by most groups, with the lowest double entered at an entry-level qualification and Edexcel linear GCSE. Many pupils also have the opportunity of sitting an AL&N Maths exam (Adult Literacy and Numeracy), which, when taken with the corresponding AL&N English exam, can result in the equivalent of an extra GCSE.
